Maggie Osborne

Barrister, Solicitor & Notary Public
Main areas of practice: family law, real estate law, wills and estates, and corporate law.

Maggie is an avid sap boiler, baker, angler, gym rat, and softball superstar.

Maggie completed her undergraduate degree at Laurentian University, earning an Honours Bachelor's degree in Psychology. During her time at Laurentian Maggie received an award for having the top marks in the Psychology Department in 2015. She completed an undergraduate thesis in psychology studying eye tracking in relation to product placement.

Maggie earned her Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa, where she was awarded the Justice Heidi Levenson Polowin Prize in 2020.

Maggie was called to the bar in 2021 and returned home to Parry Sound to start both her career and family. Maggie started her career with a focus on family law, appearing in both the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice. As her family continued to grow, now a mother of three, Maggie gained a new perspective and firsthand understanding of the need for practical and compassionate solutions.

In 2024 Maggie became a certified mediator, interested in providing clients a more collaborative and cost-effective alternative to litigation.

In 2025 Maggie was appointed as a Panel Lawyer for the Office of the Children's Lawyer. This work allows Maggie to advocate for the voices and needs of children under 18 in court proceedings.

Since 2022 Maggie has expanded her practice to include more generalized civil litigation and small claims matters, as well as construction liens, real estate and wills.

Maggie has worked hard to develop a practice that is transparent and resolution-focused, providing practical advice and straightforward guidance at every step, with the patience and perspective gained through motherhood.
